HappyMD is an MMJ blog curated by the Chief Medical Officer with opportunities to submit guest posts. But before you submit a guest post at HappyMD.org, read these guidelines to ensure that your post gets approved.

The Types of Stories We Accept

• Breaking News – This is exciting and valuable news about the tech, science, or business in the cannabis industry.
• Deep Dives – These types of pieces are typically around 1,000 words as they go in-depth on a certain subject. These pieces provide deep analysis into one topic, giving readers a solid base for what they are reading.
• Interviews – Our readers love to hear from thought leaders across a variety of industries. If you can conduct an interview with someone who is doing something innovative in their space, we would love to check it out.
• Personal Journeys – Whether it’s yours or your subject’s, a personal story about growth, triumph, or lessons learned can quite educational for readers. Make sure to provide clear takeaways and not be overly promotional.
• Educational Guides – Teach our audience about a particular topic or how to do something (or teach them common pitfalls and how to avoid them). Either way, the goal is to educate.

What We Won’t Accept

• Anything that is overly-promotional or advertorial
• Anything that has previously been discussed or covered on our website with the same point of view
• Anything that could be deemed offensive or inaccurate
• Content that is overly critical of individuals or companies
• Any content that has been previously published elsewhere

Being a community blog, I always encourage upcoming bloggers to contribute an original article related to the topic of our blog in order to showcase themselves in front of a wide audience.  The purpose here is to help you to reach out to a new audience base, share your products, views, clinic showcase, and perhaps most importantly, give something back to the cannabis community.

We’d really love to hear from you, too. Whether you have a some cannabis news, weed products or flower, a strong view-point on pot politics, or a new product review, we would love to help get the word out about your guest post interests.

Credit: HappyMD respects individual work and if your idea is derivative of someone else’s work, feel free to give them credit. The same goes for images that you use on your post. Please give credit where credit is needed - do not publish photos that are not yours!

Screenshot + Video: Images are great. Add images to give flavor to your post, but try to make them relevant and not just because. 

• If you are a video blogger, you can submit your video to HappyMD's site -  Just create a video, submit in your dashboard, and set review for publishing.

Self-promotion: We do accept a genuine post contribution and allow any backlinks or anything of that sort. But you will get a chance to build a brand for yourself by contributing a post to our site..

All posts must include the following:

Backlinks: MUST include these TWO types of backlinks:

1. MUST include a call to action at the bottom of the page to get a medical marijuana card - MUST include one backlink to the homepage using one of the following anchor texts:

2. MUST include 4-7 high authority links

3. Completion of the SEO meta data at the bottom of the page

Blogs

Typically run in the 900 - 2000 word count range and should cover the topic in detail. Incomplete details are like a half of a puff, no one loves incomplete articles. I take quality as one of the major considerations in accepting guest posts. To ensure your article gets published, write a very original piece which is written specifically for theHappyMD.org audience. Consider an article structure like this:

Strong Headline: Produce attention-grabbing and cannabis interests.
Introductory Paragraph: Write focused on your topic and make it interesting and intriguing.  

Article Body: Review all the details of the post. Give details of what's going on or why your product is dope.

Conclusion: Pull the post together. Provide some additional links to sources. Make your editorial comment. Add a CTA - call to action

Feature Articles

Typically run in the 2000-5000 word count range. These are more conceptual pieces that explore issues in-depth, are investigative in nature, draw complex conclusions, etc. 

Consider an article structure like this:

Strong Headline: Produce attention-grabbing and cannabis interests.
Introductory Paragraph: Write focused on your topic and make it interesting and intriguing.  

Article Body: Review all the details of the post. Give details of what's going on or why your product is dope.

Conclusion: Pull the post together. Provide some additional links to sources. Make your editorial comment.  Add a CTA - call to action

You can put links to your client’s website as long as it is not affiliate links, the links must also be relevant to cannabis, just visit the site to check the niche.

Link relevant sources and powerful high domain authority links related to your topic in your article, that is always a good thing.

Once the article is published, YOU MUST NOT PUBLISH IT ON OTHER WEBSITES. Neither of the sites benefit with duplicate content
